Approach to Clinical Psychotherapy
Ashley specializes in therapeutic work focused on eating disorder recovery, complex trauma, dialectics and duality, and macro-level and systemic oppression. She finds deep fulfillment in therapeutic work that brings your past into the room as a way to explore current behaviors, and also provides concrete coping skills to help manage day-to-day life. She offers deep, unending compassion to all of her clients and believes that all people are valuable simply because they exist.
She has extensive experience working with individuals in larger bodies—often referred to as “fat” in a reclamatory and neutral way—recovering from trauma (including chaotic childhood environments, abuse of varying kinds, medical fatphobia and other traumatic experiences of oppression) and eating disruptions of all kinds. She has supported individuals coming to terms with and exploring their gender identity, sexuality, and racial identity. She is also kink friendly, polyam-affirming, and supportive of harm reduction models.
Ashley is licensed for psychotherapy in New York State. She is able to offer clinical services virtually throughout the state. In-person appointments are not available at this time due to COVID-19 precautions.
